it's the rainy season in UK.. oh yay. their rains are not like those thunderstorms in singapore, but it can rain persistently for the ENTIRE day! wonder where all the rain comes from. and the wind is so strong, it can bring down trees. smaller younger trees of coz, but still.. it was raining the entire night yest, and 2 trees fell. wow. wat kind of wind is that?? shouldnt that be closer to a hurricane?
it's reli scary actually. u can literally hear the wind. not juz see or feel it, but HEAR it. i'm so looking forward to the rainy season. sigh. one yr till next summer.
anyway, the shops are beginning to sell xmas stuff!! loads of xmas candies and choc.. i particularly like this..
huge spongy moo moo marshmallow =) it's quite big but u can't reli tell from the lousy photos. oh, and the pictures are taken using my new skype phone =) finally got a UK line after eons. the plan is quite good really, i get free skype and msn all day at no extra cost. singtel shld adopt such a plan.

went to ashford designer outlet today. it's situated at the ulu outskirts amongst alot of sheep farms. (i seriously never pictured UK to be such a sheepy place. it's beginning to resemble more like NZ actually.) anyway, there are apparently ard 100 big brand shops there, and the stuff would be really cheap if you dun convert. =P i tried very hard to find sth to buy, but failed. their sizes are reli extreme - extremely large. the smallest jean size at Levi's is 29inch, and other tops were all UK size 16 and above?! and their Calvin Klein underwear. horror of horrors! they're all DD cups. so what is there to buy??
i bought a pair of leather gloves though. so pleased. really need them anyway. my fingers were so frozen after biking home on saturday that i couldnt even turn the doorknob.
so since i couldn't exactly shop for stuff, i planted myself at the food place while wtg for the rest. and i discovered millie's cookies!!!!! woohoo. they're so much better than famous amos!! they specialize in huge soft cookies and hot choc. I had hot choc + whipped cream + mashmallows. wonderfully rich and sinful =) my housemate was commenting that if i down 20 cups of millie's hot choc, i may actually be able to find sth that fits at the designer outlet. how true.
anyway,here are some of the student interns that I went shopping with..
Aurore, Hubert and Paul. Aurore and Hubert are french, and Paul is British. He's a process engineer as well so we work in the same department under the same boss, deciphering ridiculous P&IDs.
and this is Charlotte. British as well. She grew up in a farm, in one of the villages in UK. She's really quite nice. Slept over at her house on Friday nite.
yup.. tt's abt it! back to work tmr.. I'm so hoping that the torrential rain (tt's wat they call it here) will stop. the wet and cold weather is making my M&S chocolate reserve deplete at an alarming rate.
